Retiring from work gives the freedom from heavy workloads and gives the opportunity to enjoy the fun things in life. When someone in your work retires, congratulate them for all of the work they have accomplished before they decided to retire. Strike up a conversation and ask what they plan on doing with all of their new free time, if they are going to start hobbies, and so on. If you know the person personally, you can have fun and ask if they are getting retirement pay so they can splurge on things they want. Avoid any conversation on them being replaced or possibly having been forced to retire.
