Media today has many believing that they need to be popular in order to feel happy, but that is not true. Unfortunately, many people believe this and are quick to feel depressed when they are unpopular. If your friend were to start feeling like this, let them know that popularity isn’t everything, and that the friends they have now are true friends, not friends made because they were popular. Boost their self-esteem by telling them all of the great things about them and even say that people who are popular aren’t always happy. The more you encourage your friend to like who they are, the more likely they will stop trying to be popular.
