What to say when someone is depressed?

When someone is depressed you want to be careful what you say to them. If you do not say the right things to them you can risk causing their depression to get worse. Try and get them to talk to you to see what is making them feel so depressed. Do not force them to talk if they do not want to, though, as it could make them feel worse. If they don’t want to talk, don’t force them to feel better, but let them know you will be there for them when they are ready to talk.
